COSUR: a profile
Cosur is a company that was founded as the result of an agreement stipulated in 2002 between BattaglioSpa and Augusto Rita; it is based in Rosario, 300 km North of Buenos Aires,
the company aim being that of acquiring and assuring quality control
at the source, in order to facilitate logistics operations, thereby
assuring a more efficient development of the commercial operations
with the Southern hemisphere.
Cosur has three key functions.
In relation to quality assurance: it selects the best production sites and producers
and undertakes
to constantly monitor the relative quality standards. It is currently in the process
of obtaining ISO9001:2000 and EUREPGAP certifications.
In terms of logistics the management is involved in the coordination of the packaging and the land and sea
transportation of the goods; while the sales office is responsible for the search for new markets particularly those of Eastern Europe and Russia.
Pears, apples, lemons, oranges and grapefruit being the main fruit exported by Cosur, which in 2006 marketed over 7,000 tons of fruit.
